Good to see you here...Come on in and we can talk for awhile...

By Nhodges on 8/27/2009 3:15 AM

God knows what is in your heart...

As you begin your day ahead remember He is with you. He knows your joys, and lovingly accepts your praises to Him. Decide in this day how you will praise Him for all He has given. If your heart is filling with worry, doubt or fear, give your troubles to God. He wants to take each burden, and fill you with His love. As you walk ahead, allow Him to show you His peace. He will restore your soul as you travel together, and embrace the day He has created. I am praying for you, no matter what you are going through.

School will begin soon. It is a busy time for teachers. As I prepare my classroom for the new students who will experience a first time program, I think about their excitement and apprehension about a new experience. I try to create an inviting atmosphere which will encourage them to become independent and welcome them to a place they will feel safe.

Each day I prepare, I become excited about the little ones who will soon fill my days with enthusiasm and energy (which I only wish I had)...I pray God will allow me to teach them to develop a love for learning. I pray I will help them realize school is a fun place to learn and most important, I pray I will be able to teach them that their lives have value as they become confident in the abilities God has given them.

Sometimes I am overwhelmed with love and joy as I write my devotionals. It is humbling to consider I usually don't know what will be written, as I begin to type. After I pray, God always whispers in my heart, and allows me to hear what it is He has chosen for me...I praise Him for His work in my life, as He continues to use me for His great purpose. I pray He will open doors for me, and help others experience His presence, accept His love, and feel His peace through the offerings He so lovingly allows me to share.

"Happy Birthday to Me"...I share this because I am so very grateful for another year of life...God has blessed me. I am thankful to have spent much needed time at the beach with my loved ones. One of my fondest memories was having a birthday dinner with my sisters, and my father in the evening. We watched the sunset as we sat by the beach, listening to the waves splash against the shore...I remember wishing that moment would last forever. I noticed the moon and stars and realized how very lucky I am to be loved...

Thank you for your prayers and faithful friendship...My dad's report was good. He has no cancer in his bones. He does have cancer in his prostate, but the doctor feels that they caught it in time. He will wait three months and then they will re-evaluate treatment options at that time.

Thank you God for hearing our prayers and thank you God for this time to spend with family...

I miss you Tex and Mars...

My sisters and I will be flying to be with my dad for several days and I am so thankful for the opportunity to be with my family. Sometimes God uses suffering in our lives to allow us opportunities to be with those we love...Next week I will hug my dad and spend time walking around the lake with him, I will stay up all night, talking and laughing with my sisters who I have not seen in over a year, and I will thank God  He has brought us together...I will remember these blessings on Friday, as the doctor tell us the results of my father's tests and no matter what , I will be grateful for what brings a family together...

Thank you for your prayers...

Why I Love the Ocean... Minimize

 I love the ocean, Lord...

I feel your loving presence, as I stand in awe of your greatness.

My heart cries to breathe in all which allows me to share the hope of your love.

Thank you God for words which flow like waves in my soul, rushing to greet me...

Each time I visit the ocean, you breathe new life into my being, and fill my heart with a message of love to share...

Thank you, Lord...

Nan's Thoughts... Minimize

The chairs which face the ocean will one day welcome all which is before me. I will sit by my Lord and stay awhile, resting in the place where God will allow me to fulfill the longings of my heart, and His purpose for my being...

I'm thankful to live in a place where I am free, to choose who I will serve and worship faithfully. I'm proud of what I feel when I look across this land, and see the heart of good in those who understand that one nation under God is what we need. Listen to this simple tribute to America, and enjoy the voices of the children who pledge their love to our country.
