Re: What Brings a Family Together
Nan, may God be with you as you travel. I will be one of many who will be thinking of you and praying for you.
Here is a verse that I really like and I hope it will encourage you. Please share it with your Dad!
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11
My prayer for you is that God will show you many reasons to smile on this trip.

Re: What Brings a Family Together
Thanks Tex, This is one of my favorite scriptures...I actually have it in my kitchen and read it every day...It reminds me that God is in control and He does have a plan for my future and for those I love... I am anxious to spend time with my dad and my sisters...Yes, I know God will provide moments to smile...I have a feeling there will be several nights of staying up very late, reminiscing, and laughing with one another...Thank you for being a good friend here...I will see you and mars here when I get back... God bless you Tex.

Hi Mars Just wanted to say hello and goodbye...You will have to keep Tex company here...uh, unless we have some more blogging friends join us...I will miss you both and want you to know that I appreciate your prayers very much. Friday is the day to find out the results from the tests...We will be there for my dad, no matter what. God bless you. Don't work too hard while I'm gone....

Re: What Brings a Family Together
Hi Nan. I will be praying for safe travel for you and your sisters. I will also be praying for your dad as he has his scan tomorrow. You will be missed! I will look forward to your return.
Hi Tex. I guess it's up to you and me to keep the blog busy while Nan is out of town. I hope things are going well for you. Jeremiah 29:11 is one of my favorite verses. My mother gave my son a miniature ship that has that verse on it when he was baptised. Have a great week.

Re: What Brings a Family Together
Good morning, mars. Isn't it just like Nan to make sure everything's covered in her absence...including that her blogging friends are cared for! I just hope she didn't forget her toothbrush!!! Well, I'm sure they have walmarts in Florida.
Hope you are doing well. Yes, that verse seems to be a favorite of a lot of people. Don't you think it is because we all want to have something good to hope for in our lives? I hope that today is a day that makes you smile!
And Nan, if you check your site at any time, here we are....thinking of you as usual. We keep thinking what devotionals will come out of your experiences in Florida....could it be that Mickey Mouse might make his way into them?

Re: What Brings a Family Together
hi Tex. You are right, Nan is concerned about her blogging friends while she is gone. We will have to keep the blog fires burning in her absence. I am sure she is having a good time with her sisters and dad. We might just happen to hear from her in Florida one of these days. I hope things are going well for you in PA.

Re: What Brings a Family Together
hi, mars. how is your week going? It is amazing - it is soon Friday! YAY!! Things are a little crazy here. The state budget still has not passed and since I work for the state, I am not getting paid. But I am thankful that I have a job. Do you work on Saturdays? I have Saturdays off and I work in my yard, especially in my woods which is a special place to me. I love going back there because it is so peaceful with only the sights and sounds of nature - God's world. Have a day that makes you smile, and thanks for helping to keep the web blog alive!!!

Re: What Brings a Family Together
Hi tex. I have had an extrmemly busy week. I am glad tomorrow is Friday. Friday is usually a slow day in the office. I hope they pass your state budget soon so things can get back to normal for you. I do not have to work on Saturday's. I like to be outside on the weekends if the weather is nice. I live in a rural area with some woods at the back of the house. I love living in the country where it is nice and quiet! Once in awhile we will see a deer go through our field. Well, I do miss talking to Nan. I hope things are going good for her. We will all have a lot of catching up to do when she gets back from Florida. Have a great weekend and enjoy "God's World."

Re: What Brings a Family Together
Well good morning friends...I miss you two! Today is the day we talk with the doctor and hear about the test results...I am feeling the peace of God and strength from the prayers of many...
It has been great to spend time with my family. The weather is beautiful here...Mars, yesterday I saw a plume head duck (smiles) by the big lake where I walked. Tex, I haven't seen Mickey Mouse yet but I may just see him before I come home, you never know.
I miss you two, but am so happy that you are keeping in touch while I'm away...
God bless you both. Have a good weekend friends of mine! I will try to finish next week's devotional from here, if I can.

Re: What Brings a Family Together
Nan, it was good to hear from you. I said a prayer this morning for your dad. I pray the news will be good from the doctor today. I do miss our walking time. It is a beautiful morning here. The temp is in the low 60's. Hard to believe for July. Good morning Tex. Happy Friday! I hope the weather's good so you can spend time in the woods. God Bless you both!

Re: What Brings a Family Together
What a treat to have notes from two good friends!
Nan, so glad that you are enjoying your time. I have been praying for your Dad....remember: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart...." I know that God's peace is upon your family.
Mars, YAY, it's Friday!!!! It has been hot but I still try to find time in the woods...it doesn't always work out but I am glad for the times that it does. Last evening after I got done and put all my tools away, I walked back to the woods and saw a deer! It just stood there and we looked at each other (I think that is called bonding!). I often have my camera with me when I walk back in the evening because I can always count on several to be back there. But I did not have it yesterday....
Both of you, have a great day...one that makes you smile!

Why I Love the Ocean...
|
 |
|
 |

I love the ocean, Lord...
I feel your loving presence, as I stand in awe of your greatness.
My heart cries to breathe in all which allows me to share the hope of your love.
Thank you God for words which flow like waves in my soul, rushing to greet me...
Each time I visit the ocean, you breathe new life into my being, and fill my heart with a message of love to share...
Thank you, Lord...

Nan's Pledge to You America Video
|
 |
|
 |
I'm thankful to live in a place where I am free, to choose who I will serve and worship faithfully. I'm proud of what I feel when I look across this land, and see the heart of good in those who understand that one nation under God is what we need. Listen to this simple tribute to America, and enjoy the voices of the children who pledge their love to our country.
