Re: This Week's Devotional Prayer
"God knows our hearts, and He knows our thoughts. He reminds us we do not have to struggle alone… He reaches out to rescue us from troubled waters, and breathes new life to sustain us, as He leads us to higher ground."
Nan, I like what you say here. You are right....we do not have to struggle alone. God is with us, but He is with us through caring people. Thank you for allowing God to use you to help us when we need Him.
I like the verse that says, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." It is reassuring to know that God is with us in everything. That is why we can, as you say, "embrace the day" and have joyful and trusting hearts.
Have a day that makes you smile!!!

Re: This Week's Devotional Prayer
Nan, I wanted to tell you that tomorrow, September 16, it will be four years that my Dad passed away. I think of him often, but always over these days. Every year I write something in his memory. This year I was impressed to write about his selfless love. As one of seven children, I was a glad recipient of that love throughout my life. Much of what I have learned about loving and caring for others I first saw in my Dad's life. Thank you for letting me share this. It is really hard today.

Re: This Week's Devotional Prayer
Hi Tex, We are going to pray for you, as you remember the life of your father...I'm sure you are filled with memories of love, as you remember him. Death leaves us feeling empty...Often feelings of sadness return on those dates which are still clear in our minds...
In the absence of loved ones, God allows us to heal through fulfillment of gifts He allows us to receive. He brings peace and hope in our lives when we need it the most.
Thank you for sharing about your father...Please feel free to post something about him here tomorrow, September 16, if you want...We would like to join with you, as you remember him, and write about his selfless love. We all care about you Tex...God bless you tomorrow...May you feel support from your friends here, and be strengthened by those who hold you in their prayers...

Re: This Week's Devotional Prayer
Mars, thank you so much....your words mean a lot to me. I have some good news for you and Nan and others who read this........
On September 16, 2005, my Dad passed away. Every year on the anniversary of his death I honor him by writing about him the way I remember him. (the writing is too long for here, so I won't include it!) And there isn’t a day that I don’t see how greatly his life impacted me and helped to make me the person I am today.
On this September 16, the fourth anniversary of my Dad’s passing, I received wonderful news from my daughter: she is expecting her second child and that will make me a Grandpa again! I already love this precious child growing inside of her, and my 14-month old grandson will be a proud and loving big brother.
This news tempered the loss I feel on the anniversary of my Dad’s passing. It is usually said that “The Lord gives and the Lord takes away.” Today it is “The Lord takes away and the Lord gives!” How loving is our God to bless my life in this way!

Why I Love the Ocean...
|
 |
|
 |

I love the ocean, Lord...
I feel your loving presence, as I stand in awe of your greatness.
My heart cries to breathe in all which allows me to share the hope of your love.
Thank you God for words which flow like waves in my soul, rushing to greet me...
Each time I visit the ocean, you breathe new life into my being, and fill my heart with a message of love to share...
Thank you, Lord...

Nan's Pledge to You America Video
|
 |
|
 |
I'm thankful to live in a place where I am free, to choose who I will serve and worship faithfully. I'm proud of what I feel when I look across this land, and see the heart of good in those who understand that one nation under God is what we need. Listen to this simple tribute to America, and enjoy the voices of the children who pledge their love to our country.
