When Things Are Hard... Minimize

When Things are Hard...

When things are hard, we must go back to the beginning………
to Christ dying on the Cross for us. Nothing we go through
can compare to His undeserved suffering. Our faith begins
on the road leading to Calvary. Christ is the cornerstone
upon which we build to our faith, the fruit of the Spirit.
Our faith in Him can hold up against the worst of times.
When things are hard, go back to the beginning.
And be amazed at what God has done,
and what He is still doing, in your life.
And be thankful.

"Hope Day" Minimize

“Hope Day”

I know what it feels like to have hope.
Because I have known…
   hopelessness.

Yesterday has been
   cruel… begrudging… unforgiving.
It refused to free us from our fears.

But today is hopeful!

Today is new, with everything possible,
   nothing unreachable.
God waits to provide all we need
to find joy in this day.

Today’s hope is no slave
   to yesterday’s hopelessness.

Today is “Hope Day” –
   With divine promises of grace,
   and assurance of His blessings.

Don’t let today slip away into tomorrow.
Because tomorrow will be its own “Hope Day”!!

A Prayer When Things are Hard

O Lord, when things are hard,

take us back to the beginning.

Help us see your love for us

as we see Your Son hanging on the Cross.

Strengthen our faith to believe

You have already done the needful thing…….

You forgave us and saved us from our sins.

Fill us with hope to believe

You will complete your great purposes in our lives.

When things are hard,

remind us, O God, how freely You give grace

to persevere in the worst of times.

In your Son’s Name.

Amen.

A Lesson in Prayer

Recently as I prayed, I asked God for reassurance that my heart was pure in the path I was walking before Him.  I was looking for something big, a sign from heaven that would shake me and get my attention.  Maybe the formation of the clouds would spell out “YES” or I would have a dream or vision laying out God’s will for me.

It did not happen that way.  But God did answer my prayer through the caring words of a friend who affirmed how I was living my life and assured me that God knew my heart and was pleased with it.  This was not the way my mind expected the answer, but my heart knew God was speaking to me.  It was God’s answer to my prayer!

The answers to our prayers often come in quiet ways, many times by means so familiar and ordinary that we don’t see them..  But they are God’s answers nonetheless, as surely as any sign from heaven.  How easily we can miss them in our desire for the spectacular.

Learning to listen for God’s quiet but clear answers is so important and I, for one, need to cultivate a listening heart..

“Be still and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)..
